FRIENDS OF THE NRA
The Southern Ohio Dog & Game Protective Association will once again host a Friends of the NRA fundraising event this fall. The event will be held on Saturday, October, 9th beginning at 6pm. and tickets for 2010 are $35.00 per person. The 2010 Friends of the NRA merchandise package is now available for your preview.

IMPORTANT NOTICE
The parking lot at the clubhouse is going to be tar and chipped. This work Will start on Monday 7/26/10. This area will be closed from Monday 7/26/10 thru Thursday 7/29/10. All the paved areas of the club are going to be seal-coated starting on Monday 8/2/10. This includes the driveway at the main entrance, driveway to the lake, and the driveway to the clubhouse. These areas will all be closed from Monday 8/2/10 thru Thursday 8/5/10.
Both of the above items are subject to change or adjustments in case of bad weather. We are sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause, but the above mentioned maintenance has to be completed. If you want to use the club facilities when the main entrance is closed, the gate will be open to the small lot across the street from the main entrance. You will have to walk in.
SUMMER SWAP NIGHT
This is the 10th year for the summer swap. It will begin around 7:00 pm on August 20th at the clubhouse before and after the August meeting. There will be tables available for members to set there stuff on; there is also space available outside for larger items. Please pre- register Larger out door items with Denny. Any questions can be directed to Denny Mason, Swap Night Chairman at 385-3607.Leave your phone number with your message.

4th Annual Dave Delaet Memorial Men’s Fishing Derby
Will be held on September 25th starting at 6PM and ending at midnight. A full list of rules will be in next month’s newsletter.
Clay Bird Shooters
The next shoot is August 1, 2010 @ 10 Am Thanks to the generous donation of a few members we have 2 new throwers to go along with a new course. The new course is “The Dog and Game Quail Trail”. There are 5 stations set along the woods of the shot gun range. The 2 new throwers are a double and a rabbit. We will shoot two rounds of 25 birds each. The cost will be $7.00 per round. You can shoot one or two rounds or more if you choose. You provide shells, eye and ear protection. Lunch will be provided. Members may bring a guest. 22 Fun Shooters
On August 29th there will be a 22 shoot. This shoot is becoming very popular so I’m looking for some extra help even if you don’t shoot I could use your help. This shoot is open to members and a guest. Any 22 welcome, you’ll shot against same type of weapon (For example Pistols compete against Pistols). I added a new category and it’s for youth shooters under the age of 16. Food and drinks will be included with your entry fee of $6.00 or 4 times for $20.00. Door prizes and a raffle will also help. Black Powder Shoot
LEVIN WINS BLANKET SHOOT! For the second time in as many years Jerry Levin has won the Black Powder Blanket Shoot. The annual spring event was held at the club range on Sunday, June 6th. Jerry managed to hold off Mark Hesselbrock, a previous club champion, who finished second, and Jeff Allen, who finished in third. Both of those men made late and strong finishes. Thanks to all that attended and helped with the set-up and clean-up and a special thanks to Jim Manderschied who worked as our scorer. Afterwards Jerry was awarded the engraved Silver Mug and granted bragging rights for one year.

3-D Archery
We will have a shoot on Sunday 7/25/10 and Sunday 8/22/10. Shoots start at 12:00 noon. Meet at the range. Costs are $5.00 for members and $7.00 for guests. (Includes Lunch) In the event of heavy rain, shoot would be cancelled. If you have any questions or need any info on the 3-D shoots, etc. please contact Randy Hogeback at 706-2810.
